Don’t Miss Our Students’ Spring Theater Production

Murals coming to life, a night at the museum, and a wish-granting treasure map….

The K-6th grade students of Neighborhood School have created a full-length play that explores what it means to build a thriving city. Come connect to the problems and joys that children face, and experience how we can all be empowered to make change in our own city.

Neighborhood School strives to exist in deep connection with our city and ecosystem. You are an invaluable member of our community. Thank you. In return, we invite you to enjoy this original art, unlike any student performance you’ve seen before. We need each other: to imagine, build, and celebrate a city for all of us.

Reviews of the last NS play:

“When the curtain opened I had no idea that I was about to be deeply immersed in a beautiful, powerful, and important story that was filled with art work, videos, poetry, dance, song, and so much learning!  As a teacher, I truly couldn’t believe that amount of work that I know went into the production.”

“I was longing for this more than I realized. I’m so grateful I got to be part of this live storytelling event, to see the vast ways social action, protest and community building can take shape through the power of ART. It will probably take me weeks to digest it all, but the seeds are planted in me.”

“The play was an exemplar of radical pedagogy; a necessary intervention in our community; a love letter to mother earth… a gift to all who participated and witnessed it.”

“How frequently I have returned to the themes from the play for guidance in just the last week! It will be with me for a long time.”
